Description
The inspiration for this cute white & tabby cat sculpture came actually from our cat Bobby, who is white and tabby and has tabby markings mostly on her back and her head. She’s very unique and I love her markings. With this sculpture I tried out a different type of polymer clay, whcih has a very buttery feel to it and is very porcelain like. It actually looks nude when unbaked and darkens during baking. I chose this clay because I wanted to paint the sculpture instead of using different colours of clay like with my previous sculptures. After sculpting and adding the fur the cat was baked and then primed with white gesso before I started working with the various colours. I also varnished the cat’s nose. The eyes are also hand painted with acrylic paints. I am sure this cat would make a lovely gift for a cat lover.

Measurements: The cat is about 7 cm high (2.75 inches) and about 4.5 cm wide (1.77 inches).
This sculpture is a one-of-a-kind. I am happy to take on commissions for cat sculptures though. Commissions for this type of sculpture start at £50 as there is a lot of work involved. You can also find other animal sculptures in my shop.
